Atalanta great Papu Gomez is returning to Serie A with AC Monza.

The veteran midfielder has agreed terms with Monza, says Sky Italia.

Gomez is a free agent after leaving Sevilla at the end of last season, where he spent two years.

Now 35, the Argentina international spent seven years with Atalanta, playing 252 games.

Monza have moved for Gomez fter Gianluca Caprari was ruled out for six months by an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
