Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is confident they can win at Leeds United on Sunday.

The striker believes his side can learn lessons from their previous two outings as they look to get the better of Leeds.

Villa's determination and team spirit shone through in a 1-1 draw against Manchester City and a 1-0 win against Southampton before the international break, and Watkins hopes they can pick up where they left off.

He said: “It's always hostile going to Elland Road but whenever we've gone there we've done really well.

“They're in a good bit of form and it will be a difficult game but hopefully we can pull through it and get an away win.

“We need to go there and work hard collectively, as a team, like we did against Manchester City at home and against Southampton.

“Hopefully we'll come away with three points."

An international break spent at Bodymoor Heath has given the 26-year-old extra time to prepare for this fixture as he looks to hit the scoring trail once again.

Watkins has found the net once so far this season, but he's confident the goals will come if he continues to work hard.

“I feel like I've been playing well," he told Villa's website.

“The number one thing is always working hard when I go on the pitch. I like to think I'm a team player.

“It will come; I'll score some goals and I'll go from there. I just need to be patient and my time will come.

“If I'm not scoring, I need to bring something to the team. If I'm not working hard and I'm not scoring, what am I bringing to the team?

“If I'm not scoring then I need to put myself about and make sure that everyone can see that I'm working hard and doing my best for the team."
