Real Betis defender Alex Moreno is expected to undergo a medical at Aston Villa this week.

The left-back is set to become a winter signing for manager Unai Emery, his first since taking charge of the club.

Emery is raiding La Liga, where he was recently manager of Villarreal, to secure Moreno.

The 29-year-old will be signing for Villa for a fee of around £13 million.

The Daily Mail adds that when the deal is done, he will sign a four and a half year contract.

Villa fans may be excited about the purchase, however, they may also wonder what it means for recently acquired left-back Lucas Digne.
