Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings is set to miss the remainder of the season.

Mings suffered an ACL injury in Villa's 5-1 thumping defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Guardian says the diagnosis from inside the club is that Mings won't play again this season.

The defender posted to social media on Monday: "I don't even know where to start, but to say thank you for all of your messages of support Villa fans.

"From the day I came here on loan I've given everything on the pitch, I'll now give everything off the pitch to come back even better, whilst supporting the team."
