Championship club Aston Villa are believed to be contemplating a £3million bid for DeAndre Yedlin.

The Telegraph is of the belief that Roberto Di Matteo is weighing up an offer for the USA international who remains down the pecking order at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23-year-old, who at times impressed on loan with Sunderland last season, is free to leave White Hart Lane this summer and it is understood that he is of interest to Villa.

Di Matteo is eager to strengthen his squad ahead of a promotion tilt under new ownership on Dr Tony Xia and former Seattle Sounders star Yedlin is just one of the many players he is considering before the transfer window closes on August 31.
