Aston Villa midfielder Hourihane linked with Swansea return

Conor Hourihane's future at Aston Villa is in doubt.

The Birmingham Mail says Hourihane could officially leave Aston Villa this summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at Swansea City.

The popular Irishman – part of the Villa side which won the Championship play-offs in 2019 – left for south Wales in a bid to find regular first-team football.

He found that at the Liberty Stadium, helping the Swans to the play-off final, only to lose to Brentford at Wembley.

It is unclear whether a permanent move to Swansea is possible given the uncertainty that surrounds manager Steve Cooper, who has been linked with the vacant manager's job at Crystal Palace.
