Aston Villa goalkeeper Olsen: Man Utd mistake hurts

Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen admits he's still frustrated after their Carabao Cup defeat at Manchester United.

Olsen made a costly mistake in the second half at Old Trafford as his attempted pass was intercepted by United midfielder Bruno Fernandes before the Portuguese international saw his deflected effort find the back of the net to give the hosts a 3-2 lead.

The fixture finished 4-2 to the Red Devils, with fans honing in on Olsen's error as to why Villa were unable to book a place in the next round of the cup competition.

Speaking to Expressen, the Swedish international said: “It hurts, you never want to make mistakes. Especially not in big games and especially not when you get the chance to play.

“It was tough that evening and the following day. At the same time, you have to try to take the positive things from that match with you as well. It was that I haven't had the game time for a while and then to come into Old Trafford against United and dare to play that game, I'm happy about that."
