Aston Villa fullback Young: I still talk with Sir Alex today

Aston Villa fullback Ashley Young admits he had an excellent relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Young was asked about the managers he has worked with during his career.

"I communicate with all the trainers I worked with. I won't say who is the best, but the one who gave me the most — is the Boss, Sir Alex Ferguson. And no one can call him Fergie. He is the boss! I communicate with him most often," Young told the Telegraph.

"I had a conversation with him a few months ago, and he talked about changes in football and how he would be in football today. I will not go into this conversation... I do not know if certain changes impressed him. But the way the Boss has been for many years, the success that he achieved — he had his own way of communicating with players, with the press, with anything else. How he organised his team. How he knew his team for weeks, months ahead. The way he behaved with the players. I'm not too sure how this would be perceived today."

He also said that he is in a messanger group for former players.

"We think that from that era there were only two who were not shouted. I was the first, and the other Darren Fletcher. I don't know if this is due to the fact that he is a Scot."
