Aston Villa absentee Alex Moreno has returned to action for for the club's Under-21 side.

The left-back suffered a hamstring injury back in May and has not played for Unai Emery's senior team since.

However, he is now in the final stages of his recovery, having even made the bench on a couple of occasions recently.

Moreno appeared for 63 minutes in Villa U21's game against Swansea City this week.

He will likely use this international break to get himself closer to match sharpness.

The defender could be an option for boss Emery when the Premier League resumes.
