Aston Villa defender Frederic Guilbert is set to see his deal terminated.
The 28-year-old has only played one game for Villa in the last three seasons, and he has been unhappy with his lack of game-time under Steven Gerrard and Unai Emery this campaign.
After his contract is cancelled, he is set to join Strasbourg who he has spent the previous two seasons playing for on loan, says the Daily Mail.
He has not made a Premier League appearance for Villa since the 2019/20 season after Matty Cash joined the club from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2020.
Guilbert took to social media earlier this week to send a hint that a move may be a step closer to happening.
Posting on Twitter, the 28-year-old shared a post with a football, egg timer and praying emoji.
