Aston Villa captain John McGinn has laid out his Scotland ambitions.

McGinn featured in Scotland's Nations League win against Ukraine.

McGinn, 27, will rack up the half-century when he leads the team out against the Republic of Ireland.

But asked if he's targeting 100 caps, the Aston Villa star admitted: “It's certainly in the back of my head. Whether it's possible or not, I'm not sure.

"But we've got our eyes on Euro 2024 and getting there would be a huge help. When I'm called on, I'm always there. If there's a squad get-together, I love coming.

“I do have the total in the back of my mind, but I'd much rather try and get to another two big tournaments before my legs go away from me.

“I'll certainly be available to be called upon until I stop getting chosen and if that means 100 caps, or if it means 70 or 80, I'm really proud, no matter what."
