Ascoli goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano admits he took a call from Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri this summer.
Viviano admits Sarri asked him about moving to Rome.
He told TV Play: "Sarri called me before the end of the season, but it was something like this, everything still in doubt. We didn't know what would happen.
"Lazio with Maximiano, now I read about Lloris, it surprises me a lot. For me it doesn't make sense as a combination with Provedel, for Lloris to play the second one would surprise me, then a world champion behind him puts a lot of pressure on you. If they are good at managing maybe Lazio would then find themselves with two great goalkeepers.
"What did Sarri tell me? We talked about other things, he had his doubts, he knows I'm someone who has always played in the starting lineup. Someone suitable is needed for the position of second goalkeeper. It was a speech like this, there was no negotiation or offer."
