Arsenal are eager to conclude a deal for Leicester City's Jamie Vardy before Euro2016.
Reports suggest that the 29-year-old striker was to undergo a medical with the Gunners at London Colney on Sunday before joining the North London club on a £120,000-a-week contract.
Arsenal have activated the £20million release clause in Vardy's Foxes contract and are hoping to push through the transfer prior to the England national team jetting off to France for the Euros, for fear that a positive tournament could jack up the former non-league star's valuation.
But there may be a race against time as the Three Lions jet off for their base in northern France on Monday meaning the Gunners will have to get the business done first thing in the morning.
If not, the reigning Premier League champions could persuade their leading scorer to stay put in the East Midlands as they strive to keep their title-winning squad together.
