Arsenal have submitted an increased third offer for Brighton defender Ben White.
The Gunners have previously failed with bids for the 23-year-old, the latest of which was worth £46m.
Everton, Chelsea and Manchester City both put increased pressure on Arsenal as they look to hijack the move for White.
With their rivals closing in, the north London club has taken another step.
According to the Transfer Window Podcast, Arsenal's third bid consists of a guaranteed payment upfront of £48m, plus another £6m in performance-related add-ons which the Gunners consider 'achievable'.
Mikel Arteta is pushing hard for the club to seal the transfer.
The Spaniard believes England international White is a 'future captain' of the club.
White is currently away with England at Euro 2020, where he has yet to make an appearance.
