Arsenal are set to make a quick offer for St Etienne defender William Saliba.

The Gunners are eager to tie up an early deal for the youngster after their interest was made public last week.

French media sources say Arsenal will offer €25m for Saliba, though ASSE want €30m for the youngster and for him to be loaned back to them for the new season. These were the terms given to Manchester United when they made enquiries earlier this year.

Just this week, former United manager Jose Mourinho said of Saliba: "William Saliba has all the assets to become a good player, just like Kurt Zouma I had with me.

"There are many players who have great potential in France."
