Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is ready to solve issues in midfield with a new signing in January.

Arteta, who knows that his squad depth is not the best, was not able to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa on deadline day in the summer.

Per Corriere della Sera, Arsenal are switching their attention to Lazio's Serbian midfield star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The all-action midfielder was impressive at the World Cup with Serbia, while he has been a reliable performer in Serie A for years.

The source adds that given Milinkovic-Savic is out of contract in 2024, Lazio may be willing to sell in January or the summer to recoup a significant fee.

However, the player is settled in Italy and would need a lot of convincing to join another club.
