Premier League table toppers Arsenal will be hoping to strengthen their attack in the January transfer window.

The Gunners do have to contend with the absence of Gabriel Jesus for most of the remainder of the season.

Per Sky Sports, the Gunners are cautiously optimistic that they can do a deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk this winter.

The 21-year-old is desperate to move to the club, but Shakhtar are seeking a mega fee.

Even a proposal of approximately £55 million has been turned down, with Shakhtar wanting a fee similar to what Manchester United paid for Antony or Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish.

However, Arsenal hope that negotiations will eventually lead to a deal.
