Arsenal are continuing their search for a quality midfielder to boost manager Mikel Arteta's squad.

The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Youri Tielemans (Leicester) and Douglas Luiz (Aston Villa) in the past few months.

The latest name that being linked to the club is VitoriaGuimaraes's defensive midfielder Ibrahima Bamba.

Per The Mirror, Arsenal are serious about the 20-year-old, as the Italian-born star has become a key figure for his club side.

Not only can he play adeptly in a defensive midfield role, but Bamba can also fill in at centre-half.

Italian sides Atalanta and Salernitana and Spanish outfit Villarreal are among the other teams interested in securing his signature.

Italian outlet TuttoSalernitana stated that a fee of £5 million could be enough to secure Bamba.
