Arsenal open talks with Lille for Djibril Sidibe

Arsenal have reportedly opened discussions with Lille for full-back Djibril Sidibe.

French publication L'Equipe suggests that the Gunners are showing significant interest in the 23-year-old and are hoping to hijack Monaco's pursuit.

It is understood that Monaco had an agreement in place for Sidibe but that prospective deal has stalled with Arsene Wenger willing to pounce.

The French tactician wants a full-back to cover Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal and his desire to bring Sidibe to North London could spell the end for Kieran Gibbs who could leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
