Arsenal, Man Utd miss out as Herrmann pens new Monchengladbach deal

Borussia Monchengladbach have confirmed that Patrick Herrmann has signed a new contract.

The 24-year old midfielder was being linked with a potential summer move to either Arsenal or Manchester United but has ended that speculation by committing to the Bundesliga side where he has been since 2008.

"I feel at home here," he said. "These are conditions for me to continue down this successful path that should also again lead to the national team.

"But with Borussia I also have goals.

"The Europa League matches this season whet my appetite for more. I want to be successful with the club both nationally and internationally."
