Arsenal are making a move for Napoli veteran Dries Mertens.

Off contract in June, the Belgium striker is fielding interest from across Europe and around the world about next season.

Sky Sports says Arsenal have made contact with Mertens' camp to alert them that a pre-contract offer will soon be tabled.

The 32-year-old is still wanted by Napoli, which have offered a new two-year deal worth €9m in total.

Mertens has 12 goals and 5 assists in 28 matches this season.
