Arsenal fans are being assured that manager Arsene Wenger is set for an unprecedented signing spree. The Daily Star says Wenger has made enquiries about Valencia star Juan Mata, Bolton defender Gary Cahill and Lille forward Gervinho.
A Gunners source said: "Arsene currently has his fingers in an awful lot of pies and it is now just a case of waiting to see what will come off.
"It is not money or transfer fees that are going to stop anything, it just depends on the players."
Wenger will step up his summer recruitment drive ahead of the start of pre-season training next week, but reported target Juan Mata insists he is happy at Valencia.
Arsenal are expected to push through a deal for Bolton's England defender Cahill and make offers for Ivory Coast forward Gervinho, Argentina youngster Ricky Alvarez and Bayer Leverkusen's Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal.
