Arsenal defender Pablo Mari is heading home to Spain for treatment on an ankle injury.
The centre-back was injured against Manchester City on June 17, and is unlikely to be fit before the start of next season.
Mari had surgery and is targeting a return to full training in September.
The Arsenal website posted an update on Mari's fitness, indicating he was able to walk freely without aid, and would be in Spain for a short period to receive specialist attention and extensive therapy.
Mari arrived on loan from Flamengo, and Arsenal have turned his deal into a permanent one.
