Arsenal chief Edu to make fresh changes to recruitment team

Arsenal chief Edu is set to shake up their recruitment team ahead of the summer market.

The Athletic says the former Gunners midfielder is to appoint Jason Ayto as his No.2 - with his official title being assistant sporting director.

First-team scout James Ellis is set to also receive a new role at the Emirates.

Fulham's former senior scout is set to be named the north Londoners' new head of recruitment.

More appointments are said to be in the pipeline, although it's claimed first-team scout Mark Curtis, loan manager Ben Knapper and analytics specialist Tolly Colburn will retain "signifcant roles" in the setup.

Arsenal stretched their lead at the top of the table to eight points with a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Defending champions Manchester City, however, do have a game in hand on Mike Arteta's troops.
