Arsenal have turned down Dani Ceballos' request to terminate his loan.

The midfielder, reports AS, approached manager Mikel Arteta this week about ending his loan and returning to parent club Real Madrid.

However, Arteta has rejected the request.

The Gunners boss is adamant he has big plans for Ceballos this season and sees his involvement as vital to their top four hopes.

For their part, Real Madrid are happy to leave the situation to Arsenal and have no plans to interfere in Arteta's plans.
