Arsenal attacker Havertz: Germany fans snubbed us in Qatar

Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz says Germany's players could sense a lack of support from the country at the World Cup.

The players' virtue signaling turned off many German fans and few tears were shed when they were bounced out of the competition in Qatar.

Havertz recalled: "Everyone should have noticed, even before the World Cup, that we didn't have that much support in the country."

The Arsenal midfielder also said: "Of course there were other reasons, but from a footballing point of view we had no support.

"We were really alone. When we saw the support that other nations had from their fans, I said to myself that we missed him a little."
