Frank Arnesen has been steadily increasing his powerbase at Chelsea this year, it has been revealed.
As chief executive Peter Kenyon has confirmed his departure, The Times says Arnesen has been allowed to shape the club's transfer policy almost single-handedly in the past few months.
The Dane has been quick to form an alliance with Carlo Ancelotti, with whom he speaks several times each day, and his influence is set to increase still further after Kenyon's departure, despite his responsibility for the acquisition of Gaël Kakuta.
