Argentina goalkeeper Emi Martinez insists they deserved to win the World Cup on Sunday.

Argentina blew the lead twice to draw 3-3 with France in extra time before winning the shootout.

Aston Villa keeper Martinez said: "I come from a very humble place, I dedicate this triumph to my family.

"With two shots of s*** they managed to balance the scoreline, but evidently it was destiny that we suffered."

Martinez was named the Golden Glove winner as the best goalkeeper of Qatar 2022 after the final.
