Apology not enough for Man Utd boss Ferguson

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson faces being charged for his criticism of ref Alan Wiley last week.

The Daily Mail says after asking the Manchester United manager for an explanation over an outburst in which he labelled Wiley 'unfit', the FA resolved privately last week that Ferguson would be charged if he stood by his accusation.

All the indications last night were that Ferguson's apology did not go far enough to keep him out of the dock. The United manager has until tomorrow to submit his response to the FA after they asked him to explain his tirade.
