Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has given James Rodriguez a dressing down after his furious blow-up during victory over Leganes.

James, hooked by coach Zinedine Zidane, was caught cursing the Frenchman under his breath before thumping the wall of the dugout after taking his seat.

His actions angered Ramos, who pulled his teammate aside to make it clear such behaviour was unacceptable.

Don Balon says the defender told James in no uncertain terms that such individual strops could not be tolerated and no player should place themselves above the team.

For the moment, there is an uneven truce between James and the senior leadership group.
