Former England coach Sam Allardyce can see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking the Manchester United job fulltime.

Speaking on Goals on Sunday, Allardyce believes if United are able to maintain the “same level" until the end of the season, Solskjaer deserves a crack at his dream job.

Allardyce said: “I think there's a great push now from everybody to jump on board and say yes, it's your position.

“Of course he won't continue to win every single game. But if his record is proven at the end of the season, I think he deserves the opportunity to manage the club he loves.

“Why not? Sometimes you have to grasp what you are given and he is currently doing that."
