Alexander-Arnold says Liverpool deserve title after three years of hard work

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold says they are worthy Premier League winners.

The Reds are now two points away from clinching the title, their first in 30 years.

And Alexander-Arnold admits that after all the work they have put in the past two seasons, almost winning last term, winning the Champions League, and now the league, it is what they deserve.

"Two points... it's quite close but a lot can happen in the Premier League," he told Sky Sports.

"We're close. We've waited a long time for this and we've worked hard for this over the last three years as a team, as a squad. It's what we have dreamed of.

"We're in a good position and hopefully we'll be able to get across the line very soon."

He added: "We're not really hoping Man City drop points, we're focusing on ourselves.

"Whether that will come tomorrow or not, we've got to go to Man City next week. We're just focusing on winning and we want to set a few records along the way."
