Al Shabab winger Yann Carrasco is happy seeing Diego Simeone sign a new deal with Atletico Madrid.

Carrasco left Atletico over the summer for Al Shabab.

He told RTL: "We are still in contact. I am happy for his renewal because, frankly, he is a great coach and also a good person. And after so many years working together, I played almost 300 games with him, there are bonds that are formed.

"I think he always knew that I was a soldier for him. I never complained, I worked. He sometimes put me in positions that I didn't really like at first, but he was thinking about the team. And today, a little older or with a broader perspective, he realises it.

"And what he did for me, how he welcomed me to Atlético, because returning to your club is never easy. So yes, honestly, we still have good ties and we will maintain them throughout my life."
