Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez has turned down Barcelona's offer to take charge of the team in January.
However,he is hoping to join the Blaugrana in June, reports Marca.
The Al Sadd coach met with CEO Oscar Grau and technical director Eric Abidal in Qatar to discuss the possibility of succeeding Ernesto Valverde.
Thus, the former Athletic Club tactician will continue as Barcelona coach and will oversee the team's training session on Monday.
Xavi was appointed as Al Sadd's coach back in 2019 and has recently led his team to the final of the Qatar Cup.
