Ake praises Man City teammates for reaching FA Cup final

Manchester City ace Nathan Ake paid tribute to his teammates this weekend.

The Netherlands defender stated that he couldn't be prouder of his teammates after they beat Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final.

City, who are out of the Champions League, can still win the Premier League and FA Cup.

After beating City 1-0 to set up a final against Manchester United, Ake stated: “It was hard work but we're so happy we could get it done.

“I didn't play on Wednesday, but you see so many players who played 120 minutes and they are running around and still wanting to win the game and give everything.

“I'm so proud of everyone – the way we worked and fought for this win, I'm so proud and happy for everyone.

Chelsea are a very tough team – they have a lot of pace on the counter and very strong. It was never going to be easy.

“There was sloppy defending sometimes and you could see the tiredness on the ball, but the most important thing was the heart, and we gave everything to make sure we got to the final.

“Everyone was running for each other – it was a team collective, and everyone gave their all to keep the clean sheet and win the game. Everyone is happy and so proud."
