Ajax attacker David Neres is backing teammate Frenkie de Jong for great success at Barcelona.

Both players were outstanding for Ajax in their Champions League win at Real Madrid, with De Jong hailing Neres' goal as "fantastic".

"I am very pleased with what Frenkie said, he is a great player with a lot of qualities, he will become a big player at Barcelona, everyone knows that, he also means a lot to the Dutch team," said Neres, who also hopes Real whiz Vinicius Junior can recover quicky from the knee injury suffered on the night.

"We have to pray that things will go well for him, he's a big player, we have to hope that it's not all bad with his injury."

Vinicius is expected to be sidelined for two months.
