Stoke City have missed out on German teenager Abu-Bakarr Kargbo.
Kargbo, 19, did enough in preseason trials to win a contract offer from Stoke boss Tony Pulis - but turned it down.
"I can confirm that Stoke gave an offer to Bakarr, but there was too big a difference between the club's offer and the player's financial demands," said agent Max Meltzer.
