Agent: Politano rejected €18.5M Al Shabab offer to re-sign with Napoli

Matteo Politano has sacrificed a fortune to sign a new deal with Napoli.

That's according to his agent Mario Giuffredi after Politano penned a new contract to 2027 yesterday.

He told Radio Kiss Kiss: “Politano deserved the renewal, in all the years he was in Naples he always did very well. This year he started very well, he deserved it from a technical point of view. He wanted to stay in Naples at all costs, it was a choice he made willingly.

"(Aurelio) De Laurentiis wanted to keep the player and the intent was the same as Matteo's. Napoli's philosophy is to want to keep all those players who want to stay in Naples.

"Politano gave up 18.5 million (euros) in two years, an offer received from Al Shabab. The club wants to keep players who feel Neapolitan and Politano is one of those.

"It seems that people don't like that De Laurentiis has renewed his Politano's contract, if he had sold him they would have said that he only thinks about money. If he keeps him in Naples it won't be good. In short it seems that nothing ever goes well."
