The agent of Galatasaray defender Davinson Sanchez says a move to Spartak Moscow was blocked by the Premier League and the British government.
The former Tottenham defender left for Gala last summer.
But his agent Fernando Villarreal told Sport-Express: “The real reason is that the transfer simply couldn't happen.
"The Premier League and the English government did not allow transfers to Russia. Davinson and his wife were completely ready to move to Spartak. At the moment when we made the decision, we received a call from Spartak and were told that Daniel Levy (chairman of Tottenham) informed them about the impossibility of the transfer.
"There was no problem for the football player to go to Russia."
