The agent of Catania defender Juan Vargas has revealed the interest of Roma - and several other big European clubs - in the Peru international.

Carlos Delgado said: "Despite his young age, he immediately stepped into Italian football, becoming a key player for Catania. Since last summer, many European clubs have knocked on the door of the Sicilian team.

"Catania did not want to open any negotiations before next summer. Even in Italy there is a lot of attention around my client, like Roma and more."
