Accrington boss Coleman weighs into Holt blast for Klopp

Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman has had his say on club owner Andy Holt's attack on Liverpool and their manager Jurgen Klopp.

Holt has blasted Klopp for snubbing their FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury Town.

“It's difficult," said Reds fan Coleman to the Liverpool Echo.

Jurgen Klopp would have to do something major for Liverpool fans not to agree with him over something.

“He is the best manager in the world at the moment and can do no wrong, and in the eyes of Liverpool fans he can do no wrong.

“Whether I would have done that or not in his position, I don't know.

“I respect that he knows the aim is for Liverpool to win the Premier League and nothing is going to get in his way, I think he might also have half an eye on the European Cup as well."

Coleman also offered a reminder that it's not just top-tier outfits who need the respite.

He explained: “If you're going to have a break, it should be for everyone. It should be for all leagues.

“I understand that Champions League teams are different along with the other teams in the Europa League, but the other teams who play in the Premiership, they are scheduled to play 11 games less than a League two team.

“Do our players not get tired? Do they not need a break like Premier League players do?

“They say that they're playing at a higher intensity but they're not.

“They have the best of everything, the best facilities, treatment, conditioning, travel, so I think, if you're going to have a break, it shouldn't be for the Premier League, it should be for football in general."
