AC Milan's Gattuso fancies Chelsea move: Premier League suits me

AC Milan midfielder Rino Gattuso is ready to make a sensational move to Chelsea.

Gattuso has admitted he's considering an £8million switch from AC Milan. The midfielder is wanted by new Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge.

And he insists life under his old Light Blues gaffer Walter Smith was the perfect preparation for the Premiership.

Gattuso told the Scottish Sun: "Playing under Walter made a big impression on me. It was a good time and I have a lot to thank Rangers for.

"The thing I remember most is the atmosphere. I enjoyed my time in Scotland because of that."

Ancelotti wants Gattuso, 31, to provide the midfield steel beside Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack and Michael Essien.

He continued: "I like the Premier League. It is the best league for me and for my characteristics.

"I like Scotland and England and I like the fact that when you finish playing the game it's finished.

"In Italy it's not the same because there the game isn't finished after 90 minutes. Not even after one day, two days, three days. If a referee makes a wrong decision we speak too much."
