AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli was happy after their 2-2 draw with Juventus in California.

Juve eventually won the friendly on penalties after Danilo and Daniele Rugani had scored for Juve, while Milan's goals came from Malick Thiaw and Olivier Giroud.

"His physical condition is improving, we've only been working for two weeks. He can play on the right, left or in the frontline, he's intelligent and has quality."

"We had talked to each other a couple of times, we were looking for a player with these characteristics. He's fast, technical, strong in one-on-one situations and attacks deep. He seems like a complete winger to me, but I can't tell until I train him."

"He and Pulisic have only been allying together for a few days, but they have characteristics that fit together well. I'm happy with how they're moving, they need time to adapt. They are mature players who, however, change opponents, league and team-mates. There are so many things we can do better."

How did you see the Leao-Pulisic tandem on the outside?

"After a dead ball they swapped on the wing, but we have Leao very strong on the left, Chukwueze very strong on the right, Pulisic who can play very well anywhere. These matches are important because they give us the right condition for the championship. The next match it will be very difficult, every game tells us something, we hope to arrive at the start of the season in the best possible condition."
