AC Milan chief scout Geoffrey Moncada: French market exploding; some foreign clubs have scouts for North and South

AC Milan chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has hailed the young talent running around in France.

Speaking with L'Equipe, Moncada admits they've focusing on the French transfer market this season.

He said, "I saw Strasbourg-Troyes, there were young people like Odobert (18 years), Diarra (19) and Doukouré (19) which were starters. It is not a normal thing. I travel a lot and see that the strongest market is the French one.

"I'm not crazy about the Brazilian one: it's too expensive and involves adaptation difficulties. In France the market is incredible: in every club there are interesting players. I see that the teams also buy abroad, but this does not work much and therefore then they field the products of their youth sectors.

"Rennes bought Doku and Sulemana, who are good players, but eventually play Doué (17 years), Kalimuendo (20) and Ugochukwu (18).

"Monaco has taken Boadu and Minamino, but it is the 17 year old Seghir who plays. Fortunately in Lyon they have Gusto (19 years), Lukeba (20) and Cherki (19): they are the ones who foreign scouts come to see, not the others. You cannot imagine the number of scouts who come to France. Many foreign clubs have two scouts in the country, one for the North and one for the South."
