AC Milan chief Mirabelli unsure of Morata deal at Chelsea price

AC Milan director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli cannot promise anything over their interest for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata.

Morata is being linked with Milan this summer.

"We will have a careful and contained approach to the market that respects the rules," Mirabelli told Sky Sport Italia.

“There are many players watched by other clubs, but we'll work to ensure they stay at Milan. We have the youngest squad in Italy, a heritage we must continue to reinforce so we can take Milan as high as possible."

Chelsea striker Morata has been repeatedly mentioned as a target, but a year after he was paid €66m, it seems a difficult operation to achieve.

“Making names now is superfluous and feels like taking our fans for a ride. We have to wait for the UEFA parameters, then we'll know what we can do for a transfer strategy that isn't going mad, but adjusting the existing squad.

“We also have Andrea Conti back from injury and he'll be the first reinforcement."
