Zulte Waregem coach Dury 'loves' Berahino as striker says: I want to stay!

Former West Brom and Stoke City striker Saido Berahino is ready to sign with Zulte Waregem.

Berahino is trialling with the Belgians and has quickly impressed teammates and coaching staff.

The striker featured in the 1-1 preseason draw with Willem II on the weekend and remarked afterwards: "I am having a good time here.

"The quality is higher than I thought. Moreover, I get along well with the coach.

“Honestly: I didn't know Zulte Waregem. My manager just knew that this trainer can bring out the best in players. My former teammates Sébastien Pocognoli and Romelu Lukaku confirmed that.

“Whether it's nice to be away from England? (smile) Absolutely. I want to build something new in a different environment. The financials is not a priority for me. Otherwise I would be in Russia or China now. Really, I'd love to stay here. We will see what happens next week."

Zulte Waregem coach Franck Dury also said, “Saido is a boy I love. I immediately had a good feeling. Only there are three parties. Saido has to get out of Stoke and then we must deal with him."
