Zoff slams Lippi over Italy fans rant

Former Italy coach Dino Zoff has slammed Marcello Lippi for his rant against Azzurri fans this week.

Lippi called supporters at the Stadio Tardini “a disgrace” after they jeered and called for Antonio Cassano during the 3-2 win over Cyprus.

“The public has a right to invoke the name of whoever they want,” said Zoff on Radio Radio.

“Lippi can distance himself from it, but he must do so with more class. One cannot afford to be so arrogant.”
