Josh Zirkzee says his move to Bologna has been the making of him.
The Holland striker has been outstanding since his arrival from Bayern Munich.
Zirkzee told AD: "I'm a completely different player to what I was then. At that moment in Germany I thought I was good. I was at Bayern, I scored a few goals in the Bundesliga. It was easy to say 'this is my level'. But I don't think I was even half the player I am now.
"I thought I was good enough to become Bayern's first striker straight away, but I wasn't ready for that at all. The things I do now in a match, how I prepare for matches and training, I didn't do them then. Don't get me wrong, I trained well at Bayern. And as I said, I scored my goals. Then you think: I'm 19 years old and I'm already on the pitch at Bayern. Why not every week?
"But it was very positive to have taken a step back. To find out what it really takes to succeed at the top."
