Zinedine Zidane has rejected an offer to return to Real Madrid.

Real president Florentino Perez has been in contact - via an official - with Zidane since their Champions League elimination by Ajax last week.

El Pais says Zidane turned down the approach, which was relayed by a club official - not by Perez nor even his No2 Jose Angel Sanchez.

Sanchez and Zidane fell out at the end of last season as the Frenchman chose to depart, it is claimed.

Meanwhile, Zidane told the official who called him that he does not plan to move to any club before the end of the season. Only this summer will he consider returning to football.
