Zilliacus reveals Inter Milan buying plans remain; clarifies Singapore investigation claims

Finnish entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus says his group's interest in Inter Milan remains as strong as ever.

Speaking with l'Interisti, Zilliacus also sought to clarify claims he was wanted by authorities in Singapore.

He said: "I have been called a billionaire by the media. I am not a billionaire. My interest in Inter is that of the head of a group that I put together to make a bid for the club.

"My group and I would not have presented a bid if we did not believe that the current owners had a real interest in selling. If the will to sell is no longer there I hope we will be informed."

"The results this season have been fantastic thanks to a perfectly balanced team and an exceptional manager. If my group was granted the privilege of becoming owners of Inter, we would like to make sure that the club permanently reaches the level of Manchester City or Real Madrid."

On the Singapore situation, Zilliacus added: “You are essentially wondering whether the news in recent days regarding my business in Singapore has changed things. The answer is no.

"In 2014 we took a social e-commerce company public in Singapore. Questions have been raised about valuation of some shares owned by the company. There is nothing wrong with the valuation carried out by one of the largest accounting firms in the world.

"I have not been accused of anything and I am cooperating fully with the Singapore authorities to answer all the questions. Some people lied to the authorities and we can prove it. I am confident that the matter can be closed soon."
